# Examples files in compas\_3gs

Hello!

I’m trying to run the example files from compas\_3gs  
which version of 3gs should I install to run them?

will there be new examples posted any time soon?

Hi, @Keerthana! Nice to hear from you.

The UI for [compas\_3gs](https://github.com/BlockResearchGroup/compas_3gs) (the backend) has now been migrated over to [compas-3GS](https://github.com/BlockResearchGroup/compas-3GS) (the tool). You should be able to use the latest version of compas-3GS and run the old examples by using the commands through the toolbar or the menu. Similar to other BRG tools, you can install compas-3GS using the installer, locally from a forked or cloned repository, or through the [compas\_dashboard](https://github.com/compas-dev/compas_dashboard) (recently made available).

The relationship between **compas\_3gs** and **compas-3GS** , is the same as **compas\_tna** (the backend) and **compas-RV2** (the tool).

Thanks for your great efforts on 3GS. I wanted to install compas-3GS using compas\_dashboard, but it failed. Can you please help me with this issue?
