Job | Computational Structural Engineer | LEKO Labs, Luxembourg (timber lattice system, Grasshopper/Karamba/COMPAS)

Hi everyone,

We’re hiring a Computational Structural Engineer at LEKO Labs in Luxembourg. Given the overlap with what many in this community work on, I wanted to share it here.

What LEKO does: We build wood-based lattice panel systems manufactured via a robotic production line. The company is scaling across Europe, and the ability to quickly and confidently configure the structural system for new projects is becoming a critical capability.

What the role involves: You take ownership of the technical development of the LEKO lattice panel system — understanding its structural behaviour (as well as thermal, acoustic, hygroscopic, and fire performance) and translating that into engineering logic, parametric workflows, and computational tools that support design and deployment.

In practice this means:

  • Becoming the internal structural reference for the LEKO system — advising engineers, architects, and contractors on configurations, validating design assumptions, resolving non-standard conditions on real projects.

  • Consolidating project experience into design rules, verification methods, and technical guidance.

  • Building pre-sizing and sizing tools so the system can be configured quickly across building typologies.

  • Leading certification work — supporting the transition from ATEx to ETA and preparing for additional European markets.

The toolchain is Rhino/Grasshopper, Karamba3D, and Python. On the engine side, we’re working with COMPAS as part of our computational backbone — particularly relevant as we develop structural analysis and verification workflows around the lattice system. If you’ve worked with compas_fea2 or compas_timber, you’ll recognise the territory.

This is a transversal role connecting structural engineering, product development, certification strategy, and parametric tooling. You report directly to the CEO. Based in Luxembourg, working alongside our robots, test rigs, and manufacturing line.

Happy to share the full role description or answer questions here. Feel free to DM me as well.
